When anxiety or other mental health challenges are impacting your life in a negative way, it is time to seek help. Especially when it is interfering with your ability to function as you would like on a daily basis. A compassionate professional is ready to support you in your journey to achieve healing and growth. At Achieve Family Therapy, we offer many treatment options that are available to assist you. A few include Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.

Couples Therapy

Emotionally Focused Therapy is an empirically supported marriage therapy intervention that has the highest level of success in helping couples reconnect and stay connected. The couple learns how to identify their negative dance, recognize their raw spots and learn how to approach them in new ways, learn to identify their attachment needs and how to reach for their partner in a soft way, and how to be responsive and supportive to these needs.

Family Therapy

Emotionally Focused Family Therapy is especially helpful for adolescents and young adults who are needing an improved relationship with their parents and find themselves stuck in a perpetual negative cycle of disconnection and escalation. Many clients are also seeking support with parenting and addressing their children's mental health needs.

Play Therapy

This style of therapy honors where your child is in their development and moves at their pace. During the therapy, toys and other mediums are used creating a comfortable and safe environment for your child. Rather than speaking about their feelings the familiar language of play is used for them to explore and understand their emotions. Over time your child also builds their social skills and communication skills.

At Achieve Family Therapy, we use a safe and non-invasive form of neurofeedback called NeurOptimal.  Here is what NeurOptimal shares on their website about customer satisfaction: “Elite athletes have used NeurOptimal®, reporting improvement in their physical performance and mental stamina. Sufferers of sleeplessness report improved sleep. Veterans use it stating it helps relieve the extreme challenges they face returning home from a war zone. Mentally clouded individuals, due to injury or life circumstances, tell us how after using NeurOptimal® they’ve rediscovered clarity to an extent they and their loved ones once believed unattainable. Brain training with NeurOptimal® has helped improve the lives of children suffering from communication and social challenges, and general difficulties focusing in school. And many challenges stemming from stress commonly fall away when the brain is trained for optimal function.”

This is not a medical intervention but rather a wellness tool for brain training. It doesn’t require a diagnosis or brain mapping. Instead it offers your brain feedback microseconds at a time allowing it the opportunity to reorganize and optimize itself.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is a more affordable option with other amazing benefits. Some of these benefits include safety of the structured group, accountability, new perspectives, support and the group cohesion that grows over time. We have several different groups. If this is your first time participating in therapy, it can be a little scary just because you are doing something that you have never done before and most of us feel a little anxious when going into the unknown.  In your first session, we will spend some time getting to know each other and learning a little more about the problem that has brought you to therapy.  You will have time to share with your therapist your concerns, ask any questions to get to know your therapist and about the therapy process, and then they will ask you some standard questions that help them know about the important parts of your history, health and personal relationships.  Together we will set goals and review your plan, so we will both know exactly what you hope to achieve. As you progress through therapy, periodically, we will review with you your goals and assess your progress. When it comes time to terminate therapy, you will have new tools that can help you for a lifetime!

We are mostly, an out-of network facility. It is helpful for you to contact your insurance and ask them if you have out-of-network benefits. We have found that people who value their mental health will take the time to look for a provider who is a good fit for them and has the experience and training in their specific need. You wouldn’t want a general practice doctor to operate on your heart. Payment is due at the time of service. At your request, a receipt for service will be provided that you will be able to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. The insurance company will reimburse you directly. There are other benefits to paying out of pocket. The therapist is not limited to insurance policies. This means length of session and interventions are broader and more appropriate to your needs. We find that it also motivates you to do the work that brings about the goals you are hoping to achieve. Your therapist will provide a safe haven and direction.

We do not have a sliding scale. If you have no insurance or ecclesiastical support and have a crisis situation, a few scholarship slots for brief therapy may be available at a reduced cost. Please check for availability and for scholarship requirements.  We also offer several group therapy options which are also effective at helping individuals and couples overcome their challenges. These groups are also confidential, small and offered at an affordable rate.

We ask that you provide us with a 24 hour advanced warning that you are unable to keep your appointment. In the event that you cancel after this time or do not show up to your appointment, a $75 fee will be charged.

Yes, you need to have completed all the necessary paperwork, bring a copy of you ID and insurance card if applicable.
