Why participate in a DBT Skills Group?
Achieve Family Therapy DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY (DBT) GROUP combines behavior therapy with mindfulness practices. It will help guide adolescents to learn how to think more flexibly and give them the ability to find a middle ground between extremes. They will learn coping strategies for dealing with emotions rather than internalizing them or overreacting. They’ll also learn alternative ways to deal with conflict, opposite points of view and how to become more accepting.
SKILLS INCLUDE:
Mindfulness-skills to help you learn how to stay in the present moment
Emotion Regulation-tools to help you recognize and manage your emotion
Distress Tolerance-tools to help you manage stress and crisis
Interpersonal Effectiveness-tools to help you decide when to deal with conflict and when to let things go
DBT Group: Thursday 3:15-4:00 p.m.
